FoodSaver FSFRBZ0326 1-Gallon Zipper Food-Storage Bags, 22 Count
Work well with the Foodsaver Freshsaver Unit I wasn't sure I would buy more bags after initially trying the Freshsaver. I already own the real Foodsaver and use it often for freezer storage. But I was looking for something to extend the life of opened packages of cheese meat and vegetables in the refrigerator. It does not work as well as the real vaccuum packaging but it does remove enough air to give me a few more days before something needs to be thrown away. And I can keep reopening it and closing it throughout the week. With the price of fresh produce what it is the cost of the bags is paid for rather quickly especially if I get a few uses out of them.
they work
Difficult to use not all that effective. I had a heck of a time trying to get these to work with the meal saver. It was baffling if the plastic sticker over the vacuum port is supposed to be removed or is part of the port itself. The booklet does not say anything about it. The bag gives step by step instructions but makes no mention of the sticker. After calling customer service and waiting through a dozen messages saying have my product and model number ready I finally got to talk to a person. Unfortunately she did not seem aware of the plastic postage stamp sticker on the bags but told me to remove it before placing the vaccum nozzle on the port. That worked but I had to remove the bag from the counter and hold it while kind of massaging the vaccum nozzle over the port. After the contents was air tight and the vaccum stopped I put the bag in the refrigerator only to find that the next time I looked there was air in the bag. The zipper is completely sealed and I've repeated this process a few times but the bag still lets air in after a few seconds.I tried another bag and it tore while removing the sticker. My old hand held unit I bought for about $7.95 had bags with valves that were easy to use and just worked.
Works wellwhen the bag works For everyday use I decided to buy the Foodsaver rechargeable appliance and it's bags and the bags work wellWHEN the bags work. Out of each box I have had several that simply would not maintain a seal even after trying all the hints. I have used the old foodsaver appliance for well over 10 years when I had tons of fruit to put up in the freezerso I have experience in a similar product.Since bags are rather priceyit would be better if the quality control didn't have failures in each box. The majority of the bags have held up to daily use but it sucks to have to lose several bags due to fact they never held the seal.
It's OK Not as good as the one from reynolds. Unfortunately can't get bags for that anymore. This was supposed to come with an adapter for containers it did not.
FoodSaver Vacuumsealing Bags These vacuum bags seal the first time and are reusable even after cleaning. A step up from the old Zip Lock vacuum seal system which has been discontinued. Never have had the problem with any bag I've tried to seal being stuck together. The vacuum seal system is great way to stop feeding your garbage can.
Needs Adapter for use with hose on large FoodSavers The description does not specify that this item needs a hose adapter to work with the countertop versions of Foodsaver. You must purchase a zipper bag/deli container adapter for this to work with a hose. Good luck finding one! I wish this information was noted in the description.
They'd be great if they held the vacuum/ Some of the bags lose the vacuum immediately. Others lose it after about 2 weeks and they have to have the vacuum refreshed. Only a very few hold the vacuum for more than 2 weeks. These bags are far too expensive to have such a high failure rate. I won't be buying them again.
Food Saver refrigerator bags These bags are not to be used in the freezer or microwave which was not clearly indicated before I purchased them. Of course once they are zipped open they have to be vacuum sealed with the hand held electric sealer again. Once opened they do not close easily sometimes they will not close at all. They do not seem to keep things any fresher than when placed in regular zipper bags. These bags are much less convenient to use than regular zipper bags. For long term storage they may be okay but then the zipper feature is defeated. For long term storage in the freezer or otherwise regular Food Saver bags are my choice. For short term storage even in the refrigerator Ziploc brand bags are my choice.
