easy to use this unit is compact and fits nicely on the kitchen counter. No need to try and store it somewhere else. I bought it for use at the shore house primarily for packaging freshly caught fish. It works just fine. Good deal for the money.
great product I bought this foodsaver in mid NOV. 2011. It worked great but then it all of a sudden stopped working. I let it sit for a few days with the lid up. A few days later I tried it and it's been working fine ever since then. f.y.i. I believe it stopped working because I did not let the soup/stews cool before vac/sealing. Also I use mine so often that it sits on my counter top and plugged in at all times. If you do the same it should sit with lid open so the magnetic strips are not touching.I purchased this foodsaver at Xcess Buy through Amazon. This company has amazing customer service. As soon as I sent an email to Amazon concerning the problem in November they immediately sent me an email offering to exchange or refund the purchase price no questions asked. I also received the product much sooner than expected.If you're vac/sealing food with a lot of liquid it's best to cut/make your bags extra long. This will help eliminate the liquid from getting sucked out of the bag and into the drip tray. Not as messy this way.
better than my old one This vacuum sealer works a whole lot better than my old sealameal which was a very basic model. If I had to complain it would go as follows The unit must rest at least 20 seconds between uses or it doesn't work properly this is maybe a problem specific to me as I am known to buy large amounts16 pounds or so of chicken breasts or other meats and then package it in small servings all in one run and the design is easier to use it doesn't have a nozzle you have to line up and insert into the bag but requires me to use noticeably more bag material which offends my mizerly nature. Other than that it's quiet seems to provide adequate not stellar level of vacuum and the wider seal tape makes a much more positive seal something that was a constant problem with my old one.
Excellent product I'm glad I read the reviews before I bought this product. I decided to buy the FoodSaver because reviews said that you can seal without applying vacuum or limit the amount of vacuum you apply. We found out how useful this is when my husband decided to seal some bread. The first time we just let the vacuum run and the bread collapsed in on itself the second time we applied a small amount of vacuum and it was much better. This is a very nice appliance it's easy to use and does exactly what it says it will do. I bought some bags and a roll of bagging material. They're both useful for different things and I'd recommend having both on hand.
Food saver. I truly haven't used this yet. My dad bought it for me and I haven't had the use for it. But I hear it's amazing! And he has the same one and I've seen him use it and I know it works awesome he puts meals together for months at a time. And it was a good price. The only thing is trying to find the bags in stores is tuff. Amazon is where it's at.
2200 Foodsaver I ordered the very first FoodSaver to be advertised on TVseveral years ago & it has been a total JEWEL !! I always told people it was one of the few kitchen appliances that did exactly what it was supposed to do. It did it well AND for a long time. I received one of the 2200 series FoodSaver 3 days ago & it had a slight defect. So I sent it back & received the replacement todayfantastic speed and customer service !!!! Thanks Amazon !!! This one worksit's lighter in weight which makes me wonder if it's as sturdy. Time will tell. It'll be used a lot so I hope it turns out to be a winner like my old one was.
Great Price I was really shocked at the low cost of this machine and really thought 'I was getting what I paid for'. But this Vaccum sealer is also a quality performer. I have already told others about the appliance and purchased one for my mother.
Loved mine so much I bought one for a friend. My friend is having her kitchen renovated this month and was overwhelmed by the project so I sent her a food saver as a gift She has not stopped raving. This weekend she is having her daughter stop by with her partner so that they can explore the exciting ways to make food stay fresher and last longer. I have had foodsavers for years. Mine is on my countertop and is used daily.
Foodsaver The Foodsaver what a difference in the new one as opposed to the old. The one I bought some time ago was good but the new one is easier to use which lets you glide thru the sealing and vacuum process.
Use it constantly I had wanted to try a vacuum sealer for a couple years glad I finally did. I was a little worried it would be a fad and I would lose interest but simply not the case. I buy larger packs of meats and break them down to freeze. Come out of freezer as close to fresh as you can get.
