I use mine for keeping frozen pet food micein the freezer. It goes through the batteries pretty quick but I plan to rig mine with a DC adapter. The suction head is a little tricky picking up a seal. Lot of time wasted trying to position it just right. When it does pick up suction the bags seal up fine and work pretty well. No complaints once you get it to work.
Device is good but bags not good I have used this product for two years. Not so much on reynolds bags. I do not like these. I used it mostly on Food Saver containers. On these containers it worked perferctly plus it give added advantage of being portable. Like when I go camping. I really like this vacuum sealer in the way I use it.
Great handy tool i have been using it to hold my veggy longer in the ref.
Junk!! 100% Pure Unadulterated Junk!!! This appliance had work wonderfully at first.That isuntil the time came to replace the batteries! Then from there things just started to go down hill with this item!Had to replace the blasted batteries every 2 weeks for 2 months. Wouldn't suck the air out of the bags! Even went so far as to buy another unit.
It is handy and work super well! I have had this product for about two years just since it appeared on the market. It is wonderful very powerful press it and only take three seconds then the bag is totally airfree and really runs long way with six AA batereries. I use it to pack opened cheese the most of time and the cheese stays fresh and last long. I am very happy with it and also recommanded this product to friends at my blog.
Soooo disappointed! I was so excited to finally find the Reynolds Hand Vac system. I had looked every where and thought I'd never find one. I had one last year but my grandson broke it. That's one reason I decided to buy two from Amazon. Imagine my extreme disappointment when neither of the the Hand Vacs would work. I even replaced the batteries the ones that came in the Handi vac were corroded and they still would not work. Now I have a lot of Reynolds Handi Vac bags & no way to use them. I would have sent both of them back but I had thrown away all the information.
Excellent product great value This is just ingenious. Packs the food in 90 seconds and stays fresh and keeps your fridge will stay odorless.
Reynolds HandiVac In the past few years I bought 16 Reynolds HandiVac all but one I gave as a gift in Europe where it is used much more than in USA.The problem is I have to supply them now with expensive bags as a continuos gift.
AWFUL! DO NOT BUY! Bought this at the Shopping Channel in Canada and spent $30 for 2 which was supposed to be a deal but obviously not. This machine doesn't even work most of the time and if you are lucky enough to get a seal it's gone in a day or so. Most things never keep a seal and it has nothing to do with there being something in the ziplock area. as the directions indicate Also they state on tv that it's good for pretty much anything dry goods meat etc. but in the package directions they recommend that it's only used for freezer goods. The bags are almost impossible to find and when you do they are very expensive.
