awesome I bought this to do salad in a jar [] with my Oliso Frisper. It works perfectly for this. I had so many extra mason jars though that I decided to also frisper my dogs food we buy 15lb bags and he doesn't eat very much so I frisper the food in large mason jars to keep it fresh and good tasting. It works well for this too. It rarely malfunctions and when it does it's just a matter of replacing the lid and frisppering again. Works great for everything I need it to do. I haven't tried it with wide mouth jars but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I also plan on using it to preserve fresh berries in the summer.
This is not a review I'm looking for something like the old SealAMeal FoodSaver System where you could use the Mason jars with the lids provided. It had an attachment with a hose that you put the inner lid that was the actual seal and put the attachment on it turned on the SealAMeal and it put a vacuum seal on the jarthen you screwed on the outer part of the lid.
