There are better sealers at better price points I bought this secondhand through another site. I'm pleased with it for my own purposes. But honestly its a bit bulky and not quiet at all. The seal isn't perfect but good enough to cook sous vide with for things that aren't going to be in the water bath too long. I wouldn't buy this one again.
THINK TWICE I purchased this item as a replacement for a previous FoodSaver one that lasted me over 5 years before the vacume pump quite. This moldel was their basic entry level one as I did not need all the features of the more expensive ones. I set the one in place and vacume sealed one bag. After that the unit would not vacume a bag. The seal portion worked fine. I contacted FoodSaver and they said they would replace the unit with a new one. However I had to return the defective unit which cost about $20 for ground shippment. The replacement unit is finally after 2 weeks on its way to me.
Sticks but works I have had a very simple Foodsaver for many years but wanted a newer model so I could seal dry goods in jars for my pantry. I use this Foodsaver almost daily between putting meat in the freezer and making my own spice recipes and finding dry goods on sale. The only thing that I don't like about this model is that the door does stick. I've even thought of trying to take it apart to find out why. I researched several models and couldn't find one that there wasn't something that someone didn't like about it. This model works well as long as you aren't doing large batches of meat.
